IAGP investigators to present at international conference: Planet Under Pressure


IAGP Investigators will lead two sessions at the major international conference  Planet Under Pressure to be held in London, 26-29 March 2012. The conference will focus on solutions to the global sustainability challenge; it will consider how the international scientific community can inform how society can effectively mitigate against dangerous global changes and cope with changes that cannot be managed. Professor Richard Darton from IAGP’s Oxford team will lead a session Geoengineering: Engineering constraints which will consider the engineering constraints associated with all proposed geoengineering techniques. Professor Nick Pidgeon and the IAGP Cardiff team, together with Advisory Panel members Professors Catherine Redgwell and John Shepherd will discuss Geoengineering Governance. This session will consider the governance aspects (ethical, legal, public perception, economic and political issues) associated with all proposed geoengineering techniques.
