Using climate modelling to assess geoengineering proposals - IAGP Stakeholder Workshop May 2012

On 9th May at The Royal Society in London IAGP hosted a workshop for stakeholders that looked at Using Climate Modelling to assess Geoengineering Proposals. This workshop formed the second part of IAGP's stakeholder engagement and followed on from the initial workshops held in May 2011.  A group of stakeholders selected from organisations within the public, private and civil society sectors spent the day in discussion with IAGP climate modelling experts. The key aim was to develop a set of ideas and examples for improving the representation of IAGP's climate model output to non-academic audiences, giving particular consideration to the critical issues of uncertainty and simulation assumptions. The discussions were informed by the many questions for climate modellers that had been raised at the previous workshop held in May 2011. Learn more about IAGP stakeholder engagement.
